It's Just The Beginning, Not The End

After reading other blogs online and my new found obsession with Pinterest, I figured I should start my own blog.  It is about time I keep track of cool things I do or create, so here I am.

I walked through Michael's craft store this afternoon and saw a million different projects.  They had an entire baking section which I drooled over.  Pinterest is just making my crafting urges even stronger.  Even as a kid I was always being creative, whether it was writing or drawing or creating.  Over the years I lost it somehow- I guess life got busy.

Now my creativity is limited to nail polish and dinner/dessert.  I spent one afternoon sitting on the floor at the coffee table doing my nails over and over for hours, just trying new things.  I ended up with hot pink on one side of the nail with a white diagonal line crossing the nail with tons of silver glitter on the other side of the line.  Sadly I didn't take a picture, but I wish I did! I received so many compliments on them.  I haven't had nail polish on for the past week or so because I have been sick and in the hospital twice.  So I figured today as my day back to the nail polish world would be full of glitter!!

My picture didn't load, but the pink color is Miami Nice from Essie and the silver tips are a combination of various glitters:  Revlon- Stunning, Revlon- Moon Candy (nice big holographic pieces) and Essie- Set in Stones.  The middle finger has Celeb City from Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear as the base with multiple coats of the different glitters.  It is not my favorite manicure but it is pretty fun. The glitter on the tips is lumpy in some spots so I will have to work harder next time to fix that. The Essie glitter was so hard to find.  I saw it on a blog and tried several CVS and even Target but they never had it.  Finally I found it at the grocery store! My toes are a purple/blue color with multiple coats of glitter over the whole nail. That is really fun, I may have to repeat it on my hands sometime, but for now I'll stick with the pink and my disco balls in the middle :)

EDIT: The glitter is not a good idea if you will be doing anything with your hands.  I was breading chicken and found glitter in my breadcrumbs :/
